RESUMEN

La estadística de salud es la información numérica cuantificable que expresa el estado de salud de la población y que es útil para planificar, evaluar y controlar programas y acciones que realiza el Sistema Nacional de Salud, en particular y el gobierno, en general. Es la información que se levanta para tomar decisiones. Con el objetivo de exponer algunos aspectos de interés sobre Estadísticas sanitarias para residentes, se realizó una revisión de documentos pertenecientes a la bibliografía básica del módulo que sobre el tema se imparte en la residencia de bioestadística, en su primer año. También se realizó una revisión de artículos sobre el tema a través de Infomed en la que se recuperaron varios artículos y libros que se emplearon en esta actualización. Se confeccionó un documento sobre el tema para residentes. Constituye un material de consulta útil.

ABSTRACT

Health statistics are quantifiable numerical information that expresses the health status of the population and is useful for planning, evaluating and controlling programs and actions carried out by the National Health System in particular and the government in general. It is the information that is raised to make decisions. With the aim of exposing some aspects of interest in Health Statistics for Residents, a review of documents belonging to the basic bibliography of the module on the subject was given in the biostatistics residence, in its first year. There was also a review of articles on the subject through Infomed in which several articles and books were recovered that were used in this update. A document on the subject for residents was prepared. It is a useful reference material.
