Care for patients with HIV/AIDS. More than just an effective drug

RESUMEN
Se realiza una revisión bibliografica investigando aspectos psicológicos y sociales relevantes relacionados con el equilibrio emocional y la respuesta inmunológica en pacientes viviendo con
VIH/SIDA. Se analizó la influencia de la religión en el manejo adecuado de estos pacientes, así como aspectos éticos en lo que a tratamiento respecta. Mostramos evidencia sobre la íntima relación entre la sub-población de linfocitos CD-4 y el equilibrio bio-sico-social, por lo que concluimos que un manejo integral de estos casos y una actitud empatica y científica por parte del equipo profesional de salud, resulta mucho más importante que la administración mecánica y aislada del más eficaz de los medicamentos.

ABSTRACT
A bibliographic review is carried out investigating relevant psychological and social aspects related to emotional balance and immune response in patients living with HIV / AIDS. The influence of religion in the proper management of these patients was analyzed, as well as ethical aspects regarding treatment. We
show evidence about the intimate relationship between CD4 sub-population and bio-social-balance, so we conclude that an integral management of these cases and an empathic and scientific attitude on the part of the professional health team, is much more important than the mechanical and isolated administration of the most effective of the medicines.
